    The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

• Knowledge Development (online, home study or in a classroom) to understand
  basic principles of scuba diving

• Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills

• Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore the underwater world!   

Our PADI Open Water Certification training will prepare you for a lifetime of adventure. Once you complete this course you are certified to dive anywhere in the world up to a depth of 60 ft.  The easiest and preferred method for the class/book work is PADI's eLearning which is $120 paid directly to PADI.  You have up to a year to complete the eLearning course online.  Once you've finished the eLearning, all you have to do is call us and schedule your confined and open water dives.  The charge for that is $300 and that includes your air, all your gear, and your dive fees here at Vortex!  Alll gear is included in the open water course, however, it is recommended you purchase mask, fins, boots and snorkel as these are considered personal items.  You will also need to purchase a Open Water Crew-Pak which we have available here at Vortex for $69.95.  If you prefer to take the eLearning course you will not need to purchase the crew-pak but you will need a logbook and rdp.  So give us a call and lets get started today or click on the "Get Started" link and start your eLearning course right now!

PADI Open Water Diver  

$100  -  gear included

We will basically pick up where your Instructor left off.  We will do your 4 open water dives over 2 days here at Vortex Spring. Included in the $200 fee is your 4 open water dives, instructor, air, dive gear, and entry fee for Vortex.  Rental gear is included and the your certification card cost is $25.

You will need to bring your referral letter, along with the Medical Form, especially if you had to see a Doctor for permission to dive.  If you have family or friends that would like to try scuba diving, they can get in the water and take part in your final dive and Discover Scuba!

PADI Open Water eLearner

What is Scuba Diving? How do you do it? I think I want to try it, but I don't want to spend $420 and find out I don't like it... Then this is exactly what you want. A Discover Scuba gives you the chance to experience Scuba Diving in one day for our current special discount offer of only $100, 50% of this fee can be applied towards getting a PADI open water certification. We provide all the gear, the instructor, and most importantly the water! No experience needed, all you need to bring is a swim suit and $100. If you decide to take the OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION course the diving done in the Discover SCUBA experience can be applied to that course. Call today for your reservation!
